Matt Treviño – Photographer

A group of us from TexasPhotoForum had a meet-up at Sabine Bridge / Skatepark on Dec. 12, 2009. The purpose of the gathering was to discuss practical uses for off camera flash using show mount flashes. Nikon has a very intuitive system called Creative Lighting System that uses infrared to transmit data from the flashes to the camera to expose and meter the subject. Myself and 3 other photographers used a 3 to 4 flashes on the model. I took advantage of 1 SB-800 and 2 SB-900’s. Those SB-900’s are awesome! That’s on my wish list for the coming year. Below are some images I took of Sydni. She has modeling experience and was evident during the photo shoot. Awesome job!

My wife’s passion are her orchids. I think she cares more for those things than she does me sometimes. She absolutely forbids me from touching them. Well this past week while she has been away I have snuck them into my photography/play room and took some nice macro shots of them. They are 1802×1200 so they should accommodate most screens. If you want them in different sizes, hit me up via comments or email and I’ll get more posted.

Oh what a day to just kick back, relax, and reflect on our beautiful country. I would like to think my brother’s and sister’s who have fought time and time again for me and my family’s freedom.

We spent the day at the beach. We got a couple of hours of pure and cool sunshine in. Megan turned dark as usual and Ava had a blast playing in the water. I spent the better part of the trip in the car trying to figure out why when I save as jpeg’s, the color looked washed out when previewed in a web browser. Engeline laid out and tried her best to get a nice golden tan.

I bought a 85mm lens from a gentleman who advertised it on craigslist.org. I tried it out on my daughters. It is a great lens that should be in any professional photographers bag.
